An End's Journey
A downloadable game for Windows
You are Micah Langlois, an urban investigator with a budding podcast. Your recent chats with local enthusiasts brought you to a sprawling underground burial site in the city of Eleston. After several disappearances, these catacombs have been shut for a long time.
With your specialized sonar helmet strapped to your head, you broke in through the entrance... and subsequently became trapped.

It was fun. I died the first time not knowing why, but then i saw it. It had me jumping and getting lost in order ti run. I enjoyed it. Great Job!
The yellow pulse lighting is cool, walking speed is fine. The biggest problems for me are direction and lighting. I walked around for a bit with no clue where I was going - the compass in the top right seems unreliable and I'm not sure what it points to. I think placing the compass in the player's hand and having it point to gems would be good, but maybe a little too hand-holding. Having some ambient light come off the player would also be nice, just enough to see a foot or two. This would help players avoid walking into walls. Speaking of walls! Color coding them would be very helpful in helping a player navigate. You could have each section of the map have different wall colors (yellow, red, grey, brown). You could also try having the player character talk or be talked to - could help establish lore, develop the player's character.
Got lost for 30-40 minutes, very very good concept, lots of promise, just no way to find your direction other than wandering until you memorize the map though and even then there isn't enough direction in the starting zone to find out you need to return and place the gems inside the nips on the wall in order to open the door to leave. I'd also love to see the echolocation visuals changed so they leave fading trails, love the color pallet though very easy to look at for the extended period I had to stare into the darkness as my "battery" faded, I would like to see a transition to instead of future echo helmet just make the character blind and let him use echolocation, TBH this is such a cool game I'm hyped for it, but I wanna see it at 100% before you launch this for sale please, work on having more sound effects in the level with their own unique colors, level design is slightly confusing but once you get the map down it does actually flow well but having unique items that make sounds that give unique sound effects you'll create a better way to get your bearings if you get lost af like I did. I have so much more I wanna write but like just keep working it'll get there, jairos got the vid.
An End's Journey actually manages to create a tense and creepy atmosphere which most games fail to do in the over-saturated horror market. Short and sweet :)
This is literally more difficult than Elden Ring.
